People often ask me who I use for hosting, domain names and email/list building, so I thought I’d put them all together here on one pages for easy access!!
For Hosting (keeping your websites online month by month) I could not recommend Hostgator highly enough. I have a number of websites hosted with them and the majority of my clients also host with Hostgator. Their customer service is superb – you can talk to someone 24/7 online and usually by phone too. They are extremely reasonably priced, and if you go for their ‘baby’ package, which I usually suggest you do, then if you want any further websites in the future you will not need to pay any extra for them!
For domain name registration This is where you buy your domain names if you want more than one. I have always used GoDaddy and have never had any problems at all. They are one of the best used domain name registers and are fast and simple. Beware that once you get to the checkout you will have to go through loads of extra offers, to which I usually say no because I then get my hosting at Hostgator!
Collecting emails and mailing out newsletters and follow on emails with offers etc to customers: if you have more than one list of people, I would totally go with Aweber, who are brilliant, offer a huge range of different templates etc and again have absolutely amazing customer service. They cost about £12/month (or did last time I looked)
If, however, you only need one list to collect names and emails and manage your mailing out, I would go with the WordPress Tribulant plugin every time. It’s a one off payment, and it organises everything really well.
Business Cards: best quality by far is a company called Moo, and you can even have different fronts to your cards if you can’t decide which photo to use!
And finally, for promotional items I would look no further than PromoExpert. Fast, reasonably priced and very helpful!
